All MPs

The Children, Schools & Families Bill is now going through the House of Lords
where it will run out of time before the general election.
The fate of the home education Clause will then be decided in "the wash-up".
Please write to your MP or go and see your MP and ask him/her to pass your concerns on
to the Secretary of State, Ed Balls. See here for more information

Read our new page explaining why now is a good time to write to your MP, with links to background information plus a sample letter for you to customise.

Also think about going to visit your MP. This is a chance to raise awareness of home education and to dispel prejudices and stereotypes. Your MP will also be much more motivated to speak in Parliament on behalf of home educators if he or she has actually met a home educating family. Read more here.

The more constituents who contact an individual MP, the stronger the message. If an MP hears from three different people on the same issue, then it is a live topic. We can be encouraged by how many people are already making contact with their MPs, but if more home educators take action, we can achieve much more.

It would be useful to us if you could let us know when you write, and then if you get a response. We would like to ensure that every MP in England is aware that they have constituents who will be watching what is said regarding home education.

Below is a list of English MPs. As each one is contacted, and we are made aware of it, we will highlight this on the list below. If they respond positively, the colour will change to green. We are also noting if an MP signs either of the Early Day Motions relating to home education (1794 and 1795).
